INDO-GERMAN STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM TAKES OFF - Nine Students & 2 Teachers from Ricarda Huch Gymnasium school, Krefeld, Germany on Student Exchange Program arrived at GHPS India Gate on 21 oct 2017 and will reside with our student host families till 27 oct 2017

A welcome assembly was organised on 23 Oct 2017 to felicitate students' delegation comprising of nine students and two teachers from Ricarda - Huch - Gymnasium, Krefeld , Germany. A cultural programme was presented to entertain the guests . They visited our class rooms and interacted with the students. The day's itinerary included visit to India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan and Dilli Haat. Today's trip was packed with sightseeing , shopping and sampling of delicious Indian cuisine.

The guests experienced an excellent morning. A special performance on the theme India and its rich Culture and Heritage depicting the folk dance and culture of different states of the country was presented by the little ones. The guests rejoiced and appreciated the great moments. They visited Jantar Mantar, Parliament Museum, Wall of Truth and Cottage Emporium. The young guests were enthralled with the beauty and richness of our culture. It was a wonderful day.

The day began with a special morning assembly in which our students put up various cultural items and a speech on Delhi and its Monuments. The young Germans participated enthusiastically in school activities like Rangoli Making and interaction with students. They were taken sight seeing to National Gallery of Modern Art , Bangla Sahib Gurdwara and Baba Baghel Singh Museum . They not only had Guru Ka Langar at Bangla Sahib Gurdwara but also offered their services in community kitchen. Together with their partners, they had an experience of a life time .

A skit was staged to generate awareness among the students about the harmful effects of crackers. A speech on Diwali was delivered highlighting the significance of Diwali and about how Green Diwali was celebrated by the students of our school. The guests visited Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Kutub Minar. They attained knowledge about these places. They had an interesting and educative experience.

A spectacular and fantastic GATKA performance was displayed by our students in the morning assembly. The guests were taken to visit Akshardham Temple. The student delegation was full of appreciation for the breathtaking grandeur and beauty of the temple.



In continuation to its international journey after being approved for the International School Award by the British Council, Guru Harkrishan Public School, India Gate hosted the teachers & students of Ricarda Huch Gymnasium, Krefeld, Germany from 21st Oct-27th Oct 2017 under the Indo-German Student Exchange Programme. The objective of the German Students- to study the art & culture of the country-was well realized by their visit to places like the National Gallery of Modern Art, Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, Red Fort, Wall of Truth, Rajghat and Qutab Minar, to name a few. On the Farewell dinner organized in the school, the host families shared that a vast sea of knowledge was exchanged between the two groups of students, which, is a great step towards their becoming an international learner speaking on the same occasion, S. Manjit Singh G.K, President, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee emphasized the importance of such programme for the students. The evening was graced by the Chairman, GHPS, India Gate, S. Balbir Singh Kohli, who interacted enthusiastically with the German guests. The Principal, Ms. Dhingra, thanked the parents for their wholehearted support to the programme & expressed her keenness to continue with the endeavour in future too.
